Caribbean Ham & Pineapple Sandwich
Caribbean Ham & Pineapple Sandwich
This new age ham sandwich features the Caribbean flavor combination of sweet pineapple and spicy jerk seasoning.

Preparation Time: 10 min.  
Servings: 4 sandwiches

Ingredients:
  
1 1/2    cups coarsely chopped fresh pineapple*
1    tablespoon coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
1 1/2    teaspoons Caribbean jerk seasoning
4    teaspoons  LAND O LAKESĀ® Butter, softened
4    hoagie buns, sliced in half
4    romaine lettuce leaves
1/2    pound thinly sliced deli smoked ham
4    (3/4-ounce) slices Alpine LaceĀ® Deli Reduced Fat American Cheese, cut in half diagonally
8    thin green bell pepper rings

Instructions:
    Combine pineapple, cilantro and jerk seasoning in medium bowl; set aside.

    To assemble sandwiches, spread 1 teaspoon butter onto bottom half of each bun. Layer each bottom half of bun, spread-side up, with 1 lettuce leaf, 1/4 ham, 2 cheese halves, 2 bell pepper rings, 1/4 pineapple mixture and top half of bun, spread-side down.
Substitutions:
    *Substitute 1 (15-ounce) can pineapple rings, drained, coarsely chopped.
